Introduction to Mindfulness

A$35.00

This session offers an understanding of Mindfulness, and various ways to practice and introduce into everyday life.

Mindfulness can be helpful in parenting, work, managing anxiety and stress, encourage us to be more present, self-compassionate and enjoy those little moments that happen every day (but we might be too much in the 'busy' to Notice).

This introduction session explores
- what is Mindfulness (and what its not!)
- the evidence based research of the benefits of Mindfulness
- the brain science of Mindfulness (the amazing ways it can change the structure of the brain, at any age!)
- how this brain change can help us be able to CHOOSE our RESPONSES to challenging situations, rather than REACT.
- gain an insight of how to train our 'Monkey Minds', and live more in the Present, rather than thinking about all the things we need to do Tomorrow, or analyse what we did Yesterday.
- how Mindfulness strategies can assist children or young adults in managing anxiety, stress and emotional outbursts.

This will be facilitated by Kate Foster, who has completed Mindfulness training with Dr Russ Harris, and Dr Louise Hayes. She is also an accredited facilitator of MAP - Mindful Awareness Parenting, developed by Dr Rebecca Coleman

Please bring a pillow and blanket!!

Cost - $35
Certificates of Attendance can be provided.
